Currently on the loft floor is a blown up version of the Aleutian Baidarka shown in David Zimmerly’s Qajak: Kayaks of Siberia and Alaska. The boat has been stretched to 18 feet and is being faired to be built with bent frames rather than chined frames. I plan to build two of these, sold as individually or as a set. The frames will be Alaskan Yellow Cedar with Tamarack Longitudinals. The stem and tail piece will be Black Locust. Included with each boat will be a carved doubled bladed paddle made of Alaskan Yellow Cedar with some hardwood blade ends. To be completed 2019.
